"Prize-One Bitch" © by Art in Ireland

Well I had a lady once and this you know,
When I was with her I never felt low,
But then she started fooling around with my best friend
And I said to myself, 'Hey, man, this gotta end!'
So I played it cool for a week or two.
Didn't do the things that I'm supposed to do,
Like giving my attention, being patient and kind,
I put that lady right out of my mind.

Ohhh, pretty lady, why did you do me wrong?
You broke that trust we had, the love that was so strong!
Oh, my heart is aching, I know that I miss you,
But it's not fair the way you made me blue.

So after a while she said to me,
'Hey, man, why you being so unfriendly?
Do you think I've done something wrong
Or are you just stringing me along?'
'Stringing you along,' I says, 'that's rich!
When you've been acting like a prize-one bitch,
Fooling with everybody else and ignoring me -
Now that don't fit my reality.

Ohhh, pretty lady, why did you do me wrong?
You broke that trust we had, the love that was so strong!
Oh, my heart is aching, I know that I miss you,
But it's not fair the way you made me blue.

You might find it's fun to play the field
But I'll tell you a truth that's signed and sealed,
If you want your man to stick around
Then adultery is out of bounds,
What I need is a lady with the power
To believe in me through every living hour.
So please don't waste my time no more
'Cos you're talking skin when I'm talking core.

Ohhh, pretty lady, why did you do me wrong?
You broke that trust we had, the love that was so strong!
Oh, my heart is aching, I know that I miss you,
But it's not fair the way you made me blue.
